WorldSkills Europe is an association which promotes excellence in the field of skills and competence development. It focuses on organizing and developing skills competitions which act as a tool for further developing skills structures in Europe.
We raise awareness of the importance of professional excellence and high quality vocational education and training for Europe. We attempt to realize this by various means. The most important of these means is EuroSkills.

EuroSkills is a biennial international skills competition organized in one of the WorldSkills Europe member states. EuroSkills is a spectacular promotion of the professions, centred on the professional performance of hundreds of talents, selected through competitions held in their countries. During the EuroSkills competition our members, international industry partners, governmental agencies and educational institutions come together to promote vocational education and training excellence in Europe. Together, we encourage world class standards of skills and competences in Europe. This partnership between students, governmental and private institutions and civil society organisations is unique within Europe.

To participate in EuroSkills is to participate in a total experience. The EuroSkills event is structured according to the concept of seeing, doing and informing. The exciting vocational competitions are a source of inspiration and offer a clear overview of the state of affairs within the various skills areas.
WorldSkills Europe Goals and Objectives
  1. To use skills competitions to help the EU and its member states to raise skills standards and to promote excellence in vocational skills throughout the EU
  2. Increase awareness of the importance of skills and vocational education/training for the EU economies and societies
  3. Develop a range of European vocational skills competitions for EU member states
  4. Ensure that vocational skills competitions organised by EuroSkills, reflect the varied and changing skills requirements of the EU's member states and of the EU as a whole
  5. Encourage each EU member country to participate in EuroSkills and so expand and develop the rang and structure of its own vocational skills competitions.
To reach these goals WorldSkills Europe will:
  • focus on the promotion and presentation of European trades and vocational education.
  • not only show the trade, but also the cooperation within the sector organisations to reach achievements.
  • give an important role to skills competitions as inspirational factor for young people and as mutual measurement of the power of European vocational skills.
  • be the platform on which European organisations, ministries of education and international industry organisations can exchange knowledge and experience about innovation, training methods and opportunities for collaboration.
